Adelaide wheelie bin with a red lid outside a home

FAQ. 7 day wheelie bin hire

Real answers to the questions we actually get asked.

Most people booking a bin haven't done it before. Below are the questions we hear most often, with straight answers. Pricing, what fits, what doesn't, how delivery actually works, and what happens if a plan changes mid-hire.

If something here doesn't cover your job, the calculator on the booking page handles most edge cases, or get in touch and we'll work it out before anything goes out the door.

How does 7 day wheelie bin hire work?

You book online, we deliver the bin to your address (usually the next business day), you fill it over seven days, then we pick it up. No account, no contract, no separate delivery fee. The seven days starts on the day the bin arrives.

What does it cost?

360L is $99. 660L is $129. 1100L is $179. All in: GST included, delivery and pickup included, seven days hire included. There's no separate delivery fee tacked on at the end.

What can I put in the bin?

General household and light commercial waste. Boxes, packaging, furniture, kitchen and household clear-outs. Light reno material like tiles, plasterboard, cabinetry, timber offcuts. Garden waste. Branches, prunings, lawn clippings, weeds. Most renos, garden tidies and end-of-lease cleans fit comfortably.

What can't I put in?

Asbestos, liquid paint, oil, fuel, gas bottles, car or lithium batteries, tyres, hot ash, large volumes of food waste, and anything classed hazardous. These need a specialist disposal route. If something's borderline, ask before the bin lands and we'll sort it out on the phone.

Is there a weight limit?

Yes. A 360L is about 75kg, a 660L around 100kg, and a 1100L around 150kg. That sounds like a lot until you fill half a bin with broken tiles or pavers. If we can't lift it, we can't take it.

What about bricks, concrete and tiles?

Small amounts are fine. Heavy material is dense. Keep it spread across the floor of the bin, never piled up to the top. The lid has to close flat for the truck lift to work. Whole pallets of bricks or a full concrete slab need a different solution; ring us first.

Can I extend the hire past 7 days?

Yes. After day seven it's $5 per bin per day, up to a maximum of 30 days total. Let us know before the scheduled pickup so we can update the run.

When do you deliver?

Monday to Friday, usually next business day if you book before noon. We don't deliver on weekends or South Australian public holidays. If your pickup day falls on a public holiday, we move it to the next business day automatically.

Where do you deliver?

Adelaide metro, across roughly 245 suburbs from the northern suburbs down to the southern coast and out to the west. If you're not sure your suburb is covered, the booking calculator checks the postcode for you.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

No. Leave placement notes when you book. Driveway, side of house, behind the gate, hardstand. And the driver follows them. Same for pickup. You'll get a text on the day the bin moves.

Can the bin go on the road, footpath or verge?

No. The bin has to sit on private property. Driveway, lawn, hardstand, or behind a side gate. Most councils will fine bins left on the verge or kerb. If access is tight, mention it in the placement notes and we'll work it out.

What if my collection day falls on a public holiday?

We move the pickup to the next business day. You don't need to do anything. We'll text the day before so you know the bin's staying an extra day.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, as long as it's before delivery. Same-day cancellations forfeit a portion of the booking to cover dispatch costs. The truck is already loaded. Cancel through the link in your booking confirmation, or email us.

How do I pay?

Online at the time of booking, by card via Square. No invoices, no deposits, no juggling. Receipt lands in your inbox straight away.

Do you do event bins, builder bins, or high-rise office bins?

Yes. Those run as separate products with their own booking flow. See /eventhire for events, /services/construction-waste for builder waste, and /highriseofficebins for CBD towers and apartments.

What about scheduled weekly or fortnightly bins?

The public site is set up for short-term, one-off hires. We do run an ongoing service for existing commercial customers, but it's not something we take new sign-ups for through the website. If you're after an ongoing arrangement, get in touch and we'll see if it makes sense.

Is the bin going to fit through my side gate?

A 360L and 660L roll through any standard side gate. A 1100L is roughly a metre wide. Measure if your gate is narrow. The driver can leave it at the front if access is tight; mention it in the placement notes.

Are you actually local?

Yes. Adelaide-owned, started 2020, metro only. The booking, the delivery, the billing. It's the same small team. You're not getting bounced around a national call centre.

Can I hire more than one bin at once?

Yes. Book each bin through the calculator and they come on the same drop. Two 1100L bins clear a full house strip-out, and a 660L plus a 1100L covers a big garden tidy with the reno waste kept separate. Extra-day charges apply per bin if you keep them past seven days.

What happens if I overfill the bin?

The lid has to close flat for the truck lift to grab it. If it's heaped over the rim the driver can't take it safely, so they'll either level it off or come back once it's sorted, and a return trip is charged. Fill to the rim and you're fine.
