How does 7 day wheelie bin hire work?
A booking online sends a bin to the address, usually the next business day. Seven days on site, then we collect it. No account, no contract, no separate delivery fee. The seven days start on the day the bin arrives.
What does it cost?
360L is $99. 660L is $129. 1100L is $179. GST included, delivery and pickup included, seven days hire included. There is no separate delivery fee added at the end.
What can I put in the bin?
Household and light commercial waste belongs in the bin. A kitchen clear-out, boxed junk and most furniture fit. Light reno waste is fine when it is plasterboard, cabinetry or timber offcuts rather than a slab of concrete. Garden prunings and lawn clippings sit in the same bin. Most renos, garden tidies and end-of-lease cleans fit.
What can I not put in?
Hazardous and specialist waste stays out. That means no asbestos, no liquid paint, no oils or fuels, and no batteries, tyres or hot ash. Large volumes of food waste need a different route. If something is borderline, ask before the bin lands.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes. A 360L is about 75kg, a 660L around 100kg, and a 1100L around 150kg. That sounds like a lot until you fill half a bin with broken tiles or pavers. If we cannot lift it, we cannot take it.
What about bricks, concrete and tiles?
Small amounts are fine. Heavy material is dense. Keep it spread across the floor of the bin, never piled up to the top. The lid has to close flat for the truck lift to work. Whole pallets of bricks or a full concrete slab need a skip from a skip company, not a wheelie bin.
Can I extend the hire past 7 days?
Yes. After day seven it is $5 per bin per day, up to a maximum of 30 days total. Let us know before the scheduled pickup so we can update the run.
When do you deliver?
Monday to Friday, usually next business day if you book before noon. We do not deliver on weekends or South Australian public holidays. If your pickup day falls on a public holiday, we move it to the next business day automatically.
Where do you deliver?
Adelaide metro, across roughly 245 suburbs from the northern suburbs down to the southern coast and out to the west. If you are not sure your suburb is covered, the booking form checks the postcode.
Do I need to be home for delivery?
No. Leave placement notes when you book. Driveway, side of house, behind the gate, hardstand. The driver follows them. Same for pickup. You get a text on the day the bin moves.
Can the bin go on the road, footpath or verge?
No. The bin has to sit on private property. Driveway, lawn, hardstand, or behind a side gate. Most councils will fine bins left on the verge or kerb. If access is tight, mention it in the placement notes.
What if my collection day falls on a public holiday?
We move the pickup to the next business day. You do not need to do anything. We text the day before so you know the bin is staying an extra day.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes, as long as it is before delivery. Same-day cancellations forfeit a portion of the booking to cover dispatch costs, because the run is already locked in. Cancel through the link in your booking confirmation, or email us.
How do I pay?
Online at the time of booking, by card via Square. No invoices and no deposits for a standard 7 day hire. The receipt lands in your inbox straight away.
Do you do event bins, builder bins, or high-rise office bins?
Yes. Those run as separate products. See event hire for events, construction waste for builder jobs, and high-rise office bins for CBD towers and apartments.
What about scheduled weekly or fortnightly bins?
The public site is set up for short-term, one-off hires. An ongoing service already runs for existing commercial customers. It is not a new sign-up through the website. If you want an ongoing arrangement, send a message and we will say whether it fits.
Will the bin fit through my side gate?
A 360L and 660L roll through any standard side gate. A 1100L is roughly a metre wide. Measure if your gate is narrow. The driver can leave it at the front if access is tight. Mention it in the placement notes.
Are you actually local?
Yes. Adelaide owned, started 2020, metro only, not a franchise. The booking, the delivery and the billing sit with the same small operation. You are not bouncing around a national call centre.
Can I hire more than one bin at once?
Yes. Book each bin and they come on the same drop. Two 1100L bins clear a full house strip-out. A 660L plus an 1100L covers a big garden tidy with the reno waste kept separate. Extra-day charges apply per bin if you keep them past seven days.
What happens if I overfill the bin?
The lid has to close flat for the truck lift to grab it. If it is heaped over the rim the driver cannot take it safely, so they will either level it off or come back once it is sorted, and a return trip is charged. A bin filled to the rim is fine.
Do you hire skip bins?
No. Adelaide Wheelie Bins hires wheelie bins, not skips. A 360L is $99, a 660L is $129, an 1100L is $179. Typical Adelaide skip hire sits around $180 to $280 and up, often with a council permit if it sits on the street. For bricks, concrete and soil in volume, a skip company is the right tool.
Do I need a council permit?
Not for a wheelie bin on your own property. Skip bins placed on a public road or verge usually do. Keep the wheelie on the driveway, lawn or hardstand.
